Emotional and Stress-Eating
Use skill not will

Many people who eat to deal with emotions and stress think getting over that is all about willpower. They berate themselves that they can’t ‘just push through it’. They push so hard that they exhaust themselves. Then they eat.
In a previous blog, I mentioned being kind to yourself if you’re an emotional or stress eater. This is one of the reasons for that: recovery from emotional/stress eating isn’t as simple as pushing through with willpower. Emotional and stress-eating is often built on beliefs – sometimes beliefs that you’ve had for quite a while, and beliefs that you think are ‘just who you are’.
Identifying, examining and changing beliefs is a skill. So, take it easy on the willpower and come and learn the skill. www.asimplerlife.co.nz
